Bodegas de Sobrarbe Restaurant is located on the ground floor and in the basement of an old fortress-house, which dates back to the 11th century when it was part of the original fortification of the town of Aínsa; the walled area of the town was subsequently extended and the 16th century castle belongs to this extension.

Bodegas de Sobrarbe Restaurant nestles in a privileged setting in the centre of the old quarter of the medieval town of Aínsa, declared of Particular Historical and Artistic Value in 1965, more specifically in the Plaza Mayor, the arcades and cobbled pavement of which are the ideal setting for the performance of the Morisma, a cultural event that takes place every two years and draws a significant crowd who attentively watch the staging of the battle between Moors and Christians set in the 8th century and the victory of the troops of Garci Ximenez.
