Bodegas de Sobrarbe Restaurant is the perfect place to try out the deliciously exquisite dishes of our gastronomy and choose from a wide selection of the best wines, which we store in our cellar in optimum environmental conditions, according to the requisites of each wine. Everything to delight the most demanding palates; not only will our dishes restore your strength, but they will provide you with a truly pleasurable experience.
The restaurant is located in an old 11th century fortress-house of which it occupies the ground floor and cellar. The house, which belonged for generations to the Bielsa family, has been renovated, enhanced and equipped with antique furniture for its current use as a restaurant.
The beauty of the furniture as a whole is quite spectacular, although some of the most representative pieces deserve special mention, such as the tables inlaid with Teruel ceramics and the solid wood furniture, which includes a particularly beautiful table with sturdy legs and a wine press from the year... all of which helps to create a special atmosphere in which time seems to stand still.
The restaurant has several dining rooms, which are suited to the needs of our guests; these rooms are carefully decorated to provide a feeling of warmth and recreate a medieval atmosphere:
- A dining room that seats 40 or 45 guests, ideal for family celebrations, business lunches or groups.
- A dining room that seats 35 and is presided by a beautiful window grille, which opens on to a charming area decorated with pretty indoor plants.
- A dining room that seats 21, in which a large Aragonese "cadiera" fireside bench in solid wood is one of the outstanding features.
- A dining room that seats 28, in which the heavy cauldron chain hanging from the ceiling and the beautiful polychromed, high-backed chairs stand out.
- A dining room that seats 23, situated in the cellar and presided by an impressive square Teruel ceramic table.
- An old cereal threshing floor, which is currently used as a splendid terrace with a capacity for 65 people, with amazing views over the river Ara as it converges with the river Cinca.
Bodegas de Sobrarbe Restaurant, which appears in the Michelin, Campsa and Gourmetour guides, has received several distinctions: Certificate of Quality awarded in 1998 by the General Council of Aragon, Tourist Merit Plaque awarded in September 1998 by the General Council of Aragon, Tourist Quality Commitment Prize awarded by the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Government of Aragon - Sobrarbe Area.
The establishment has a book of signatures of illustrious personalities from the world of politics, the arts, science and culture from our own country as well as France and New Zealand.
